Why we exist

Most recruitment agencies that "do some construction" produce the same outcome over and over. A generalist consultant runs a keyword search, sends an unranked stack of CVs, and cannot tell an IEng route from a CEng one or a Part 2 from a Part 3. The hiring manager wastes interview slots on candidates who cannot actually pass the technical bar, and quietly starts working with a specialist agency in parallel.

Hire ARC was set up to be that specialist. We are a UK AEC desk. Architecture, structural and civil engineering, MEP, project management, quantity surveying, planning, site management, BIM, health and safety, sustainability and contract management. Every consultant on the team speaks the technical language of the disciplines they recruit for, and every shortlist that leaves our desk has been read against the actual chartership bar you set.

What we do, plainly

We place built-environment professionals for UK employers. Consultancies, main-tier delivery firms, developers, local authorities, housing associations and infrastructure clients. Graduate and senior placements through director and partner-level searches. One consultant accountable end to end, from the intake call through the day-90 check-in.

How we vet

Every applicant on a Hire ARC shortlist has been assessed against the same standard before an introduction:

  • Chartership currency confirmed (RIBA, ARB, ICE, IStructE, CIBSE, RICS, CIOB, APM, CIAT, LI, RTPI as applicable)
  • Portfolio and project pedigree reviewed against the brief, not just the CV headline
  • Software and delivery-tool fluency (Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Tekla, Navisworks, ISO 19650 where relevant)
  • Current package broken down: base, bonus, car or car allowance, pension, benefits
  • Notice period, contractual restrictions and start-date realism
  • Reference and background readiness before we introduce
  • Right-to-work confirmed at intake

Who we work with

Our clients include multi-disciplinary consultancies, main-tier delivery firms, sub-tier delivery firms, developers, PE-backed portfolio businesses, local authority delivery teams, housing associations and infrastructure operators across the United Kingdom. Directors, partners, associate directors and hiring managers who value a properly researched shortlist over CV volume.

How we think about a placement

A placement is not a signed offer letter. It is the moment 12 months later when the new hire is still there, the project has progressed on programme, the chartership pathway is on schedule where relevant, and the hiring manager has stopped thinking about backup plans. That is the outcome we measure ourselves against.

Our standards

  • Sector-fluent screening. If we cannot articulate why a candidate meets the chartership bar and the project pedigree, the CV does not leave our desk.
  • Tell the truth. If a comp band is light for the discipline or a brief is unrealistic, we say so before sourcing.
  • One consultant, end to end. Same person from intake through onboarding follow-up.
  • Discretion by default. Every approach is confidential. Every brief is confidential until you say otherwise.
  • Stand behind the work. Replacement guarantee on every direct-hire placement.
